Ann Curry

Ann Curry, an American journalist and photojournalist who has reported on wars and natural disasters over the past 45 years, focuses on the hardships of the people in these areas. Curry has covered wars throughout the globe, including Kosovo Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19th 1956 in Agana American journalist and TV anchor and news reporter who was best known for her job as a correspondent on the Today show which is a morning news program that aired on the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry was particularly praised for her work on reporting human rights issues in war-torn nations and on natural catastrophes. Curry's father served as a sailor with the U.S. Navy and her mother was Japanese. Her mother was stationed with her father in Japan during World War II. Her father served active in the army and her family moved quite a bit. They ultimately arrived in Ashland Oregon where Curry attended high school. She graduated with a journalism certificate from the University of Oregon in 1978. Her exposure to different cultures and the experiences she had during her growing up likely influenced her empathetic approach to communicating about international issues.
